Gracechurch Street EC3, part of the A10, runs through the heart of the City of London into Bishopsgate EC3, towards Liverpool Street Station. Many major roads branch of Gracechurch Street including Cannon Street EC1, King William Street and Eastcheap EC1, at its southern end. Fenchurch Street EC3, Cornhill EC3 and Threadneedle Street EC3 also have junctions with Gracechurch Street. Gracechurch Street is named after the St Benet Grass Church, which was formerly located in this area, once a corn and hay market in medieval London.

Gracechurch Street is 50m from the Monument, which stands on Fish Street Hill EC3 and Monument Street EC3. This huge column was designed by Sir Christopher Wren to mark the Great Fire of London and is 62 metres high, the same distance the Monument stands from Pudding Lane EC3, where the fire started in 1666. London Bridge is 300m from Gracechurch Street, along King William Street.

Gracechurch Street is home to many bars and restaurants. The Gaucho Grill, located at 1 Bell Inn Road, off Gracechurch Street, is a excellent place to experience traditional South American cuisine. Tower 42, formerly the NatWest Tower is located at 25 Old Broad Street EC3, which can be reached via Bishopsgate. The historic St Ethelburga's Church, which survived the Great Fire of London, is positioned 300m from Gracechurch Street at 78 Bishopsgate EC3. The famous St Clement Church is also located in this area, on Clements Lane EC3.

Monument Underground Station is located on Gracechurch Street and this station is linked to Bank, which runs Central, Circle, District, Northern and Waterloo & City line services, as well as Docklands Light Railway (DLR) trains. Other stations close to Gracechurch Street include Cannon Street underground and mainline station (300m) and Fenchurch Street, which is 400m east of Gracechurch Street. Tower Hill Underground Station, on the Circle and District lines is just 150m from Fenchurch Street Station and is positioned next to the Tower Gateway DLR Station. Travellers can reach Greenwich, the Cutty Sark and London City Airport from this location.
