IMPORTANT PAGES: LONDON ACCOMMODATION NEAR UNDERGROUND STATIONS |
| Leicester Square underground station is located in London's West End where Charing Cross Road meets Cranbourn Street, just a short walk to the west from the hubbub of activity that takes place 24/7 in Leicester Square. The station is serviced by the Northern line (black) and the Piccadilly line (dark blue); if you are using the Northern line, the station sits between Charing Cross and Tottenham Court Road stations, for the Piccadilly line it is between Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden stations.

Once the book centre of the world, Charing Cross Road is lined with bookstores, old and new, filled with books from bestsellers to one-off classics. The street is also home to the famous Wyndham´s Theatre which sits adjacent to Leicester Square station and nearby Denmark Street (AKA Tin Pan Alley) is where you will find some of the best music stores in Europe including the infamous Helter Skelter music bookshop that is a must visit for anyone who has a passion or obsession for music.
Leicester Square itself is located just a few minutes walk away from the station and within this pedestrianised square is where you will find several cinemas, including the Odeon Leicester Square, cafes, restaurants, buskers (some of whom are actually very entertaining), caricature artists, the Hippodrome nightclub, the West End's ´Half Price Ticket Booth´ is where you can purchase cheaper on-the-day theatre tickets and Leicester Square is also home to Capital Radio's headquarters and London studios as well as indie-music radio station XFM.
To the south of Leicester Square is Trafalgar Square, to the west is Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and all of its shopping, food and entertainment is to the east and London's Chinatown is also nearby to the north located on and around Gerrard Street between Leicester Square and ´theatreland´s´ Shaftesbury Avenue.
