This is one of London's new wave of 4 star town house hotels, originally the London Residence of the Earl of Strathmore, the Queen Mother's father, this has undergone total refurbishment, providing a blend of Victorian grandeur and contemporary superior accommodation for the discerning tourist in one of London's most exclusive and fashionable areas. Magnificent original and elegant features have been expertly restored, from ornate cornices to extravagant hand cut crystal chandeliers and unique marble fireplaces. Each of the 80 bedrooms, including Executive Rooms, are beautifully decorated and elegantly furnished with fine fabrics and hand carved rosewood furniture. This is an ideal hotel for those who require a very easily accessible location for the underground and buses yet do not want to endure excessive traffic noise.

In our opinion:
This hotel has proved extremely popular due to its famous history. Clients should bear in mind that this is not a purpose built hotel and every bedroom is different in size and layout, some rooms could be interpreted as small, but then this is one of the characteristics of a town house hotel. We considers this to be a professionaly run hotel which offers clean quality accommodation in a desirable and reasonably quiet location. Recommended.
